Porcino mushrooms, typically known as penny bun, Boletus edulis or cep, is a basidiomycete fungus, and is from the species genus Boletus. A number of closely associated European mushrooms previously thought to be ranges or types of B. edulis have been shown utilizing molecular phylogenetic analysis to be unique species, and others previously classed as separate types are con-specific with this species.
