Our Favorite Easy Caviar Recipes

Here’s the thing about caviar; its synonymous with easy. However, to truly enjoy any easy caviar recipe, there are a couple prerequisites that must be part of the equation. To begin with, it is important to choose the best quality caviar you can afford or at least your favorite caviar. Also, to avoid overshadowing the exquisite taste of this delicacy, opt for simple pairings that won’t compete with caviar’s signature texture and flavor.

Although today’ chefs are always exploring innovative ways to enjoy caviar, these are some of our favorite easy caviar recipes that you may like to try:

Lemon Capellini with Caviar

easy caviar recipesFrankly serving caviar couldn’t be simpler than this easy caviar recipe courtesy of Ina Garden and the Food Network. From start to finish you can be enjoying this simple elegant meal in 20 minutes or less. This recipe serves six or more based on portions. Although presented as a black caviar recipe this recipe can be just as decadent with another caviar color, brand or fish roe of your choice.

Ingredients:

olive oil

Zest and juice of 2 lemons

½ pound unsalted butter

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1 teaspoon freshly ground white pepper

150 grams Black Bowfin Roe caviar or caviar of your choice.

In a large pot of boiling water, add 1 teaspoon kosha salt, drizzle a tablespoon of olive in the bubbling water and add the capellini. Cook pasta just until al dente and drain most of the water retaining about a cup of water with the capellini. Toss the capellini with the melted butter, some of the lemon zest and lemon juice. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Place one serving of pasta on each plate and top with a large dollop of fresh black caviar. Garnish with grated lemon zest. Serve immediately.

Seared Sea Scallop and Salmon Caviar

For a luxurious treat try our favorite seared sea scallops and salmon caviar recipe using the large succulent roe of Alaskan Salmon Caviar. This salmon caviar recipe calls for the most prized Chum or keta salmon roe because it plays best with the mild, clean flavor of the sea scallop. The brilliant range of red to orange hue of salmon caviar also add visual appeal and a semblance of complexity to easy caviar recipes. This recipe serves two.

Ingredients

8 Sea Scallops patted dry

1 tablespoon Light olive oil

Salt and pepper

1 – 2 oz. Alaskan Salmon Caviar

Floral Garnish of your choice

Sprinkle salt and pepper on scallops. Lightly heat olive oil in a frying pan. Sear scallops on both sides for approximately a minute and a half or until lightly brown and translucent in the center.

Place seared scallops on serving plates. Top with salmon roe and edible flower petals. You can also substitute with Tobiko Flying Fish Roe which has the same brilliant orange color and a hint sweeter in flavor than salmon roe caviar.
